Who would have thought monkey berries have any importance to man. In Mozambique and North province of South Africa, they are fruits for man and great musical instruments called Xipoliyo,,, Originally played by boys whilst taking stock to craze for personal amusement. 'TATTOO' indigenously speaking
I have stumbled on amazing rock gong the past weeks and it has raised curiosity as to how people lived with their environment roughly 300 years ago.
A rock that makes music? yes, more than two persons can play this rock and make music for personal amusement. Now I know what they mean when they say music in the air. I have to get an English name for it. More of this amazing music on 'TATTOO' “TATTOO” is an expose of South Africa and Southern Africa’s indigenous music and musical instruments that seek to decipher their origins, distinction and play nuances as well as their social relevance and their evolution over time into 2000 millennium.
It also serves as a social commentary on the music and its people’s identity. |
